Gapang Beach in Sabang City, Aceh - Indonesia
For those who come to Sabang City, they must consider visiting several serene beaches including the one that resides in Iboih Village. The name is Gapang Beach and it is located near to Iboih Beach. In terms of territory, it belongs to Sukakarya Sub-District and becomes locals’ favorite destination to enjoy family recreation and lessening. Due to the close distance with its neighboring beach (which is only about 3 km), Gapang is included in a tour package along with Iboih Beach. Both of them even share similar characteristics and landscape!
As mentioned before, in terms of nuance, Gapang Beach is quite similar to its neighbor. It features beautiful white sand and sloping landscape. The texture if the sand is quite soft, as well. Next, several species of trees grow near to the beach and they provide a shady atmosphere to the location. Also, several traditional chairs reside under those trees. The only thing that makes it different is the longer coastline, as compared to Iboih. What about the sea? Well, it has the color of light blue and it features small waves.

According to the locals, the beach got its name due to the abundant Gapang trees that reside on the location. Near to the coastline, some local buildings and dive resorts are available for tourists to rent. While relaxing, these people can enjoy warm Acehnese coffee as well. What they need is enough money to pay the accommodation and services during the visit.
Gapang Beach is, somehow, suitable for diving. Have no worries. Visitors can simply rent the diving equipment from nearby facilities. Even they can get a professional instructor as the companion (with a cheap price). He may show some choices of diving spots, as well. That means tourists can choose one based on their skills and other preferences. Moreover, each spot offers distinct contour of underwater scenery including different types of fishes and corals.
After diving, tourists should not miss the opportunity to eat good seafood in the evening. The nuance feels merry as many other tourists also come to the eatery. Once the night is getting late, the ambiance becomes quieter and it is suitable for lessening. Still, always consider wearing a jacket as the temperature becomes colder on the late night.
